Advisory Committees

Medicine Hat College benefits from the input and advice of members of our community through participation on program, community, and special interest advisory committees.

Program advisory committees provide an opportunity for interactive consultation on matters related to program design, content resources, graduate profile, etc. The College is committed to ensuring programs meet the needs of students, employers, and the communities it serves. It is, therefore, required that advisory committees are established for all Medicine Hat College post-secondary parchment programs.

Community advisory committees provide an opportunity to bring together community leaders and College leaders who can identify learning needs and opportunities at each campus.

Special interest advisory committees are established to assist the College in determining and operating services that are designed to benefit students throughout their experience at Medicine Hat College.

It is expected that the membership of each advisory committee is representative of the respective industry, community and/or specific initiative associated with Medicine Hat College. Representation from related educational institutions (e.g. high school or university), students currently registered in the respective program, and past graduates from the respective program, is recommended.

Active advisory committees will enable the College to remain competitive and innovative in the development of new and existing programs and courses. The College must always be aware of emerging technologies and trends in the workplace. The College must continue to play a leadership role in its contribution to the community and industry. The mandate of each advisory committee member, therefore, is to ensure this overall vision is maintained and nurtured.
