General Student Access Information

• When logging into computers on campus, remember to select the ‘Student’ domain
• To maintain security and protect privacy you must have a password and username to access computer resources
• Your username never changes
• You will be prompted to change your password every 120 days
• New students will be assigned a user name and password
• Returning students will continue to use your existing username and password

Your Username (new and returning students)
The format of your username will be firstname.lastname For example, Joe Canuck has a username of joe.canuck (there will be some exceptions for extra long or duplicate names.)

Your Password (new students)
For most new students, your first password will be the first three letters of your month of birth, with the first letter capitalized, followed by the four digits of your year of birth and the last three digits of your Student ID Number. Examples:

• must be at least 8 characters;
• cannot have been used in the previous 6 passwords;
• does not contain your account or full name; and
• contains at least three of the following four character groups:
• English uppercase characters (A through Z);
• English lowercase characters (a through z);
• Numerals (0 through 9);Non-alphabetic characters (such as !, $, #, %)
