Our requirement for each student, staff and faculty member is to respect and utilize computer resources and services for professional and business use only. Email is intended to be used for business/academic reasons only, as is the internet, and the software that has been installed on your computer.

NEW STUDENT EMAIL SERVICE

Earlier this year, MHC transitioned students from the former current “@student.mhc.ab.ca” email system to a new Gmail (Google Mail) email system “@mymhc.ca".

Please note: Email communication provided by Gmail is not secure. Users of unencrypted email systems should always be wary in transmitting any private or personal information. Be advised the mymhc.ca email service transmits email to, and stores email on, non-Canadian servers.

Why the change?

• Over 7 gigs of email storage space per email account (and this amount is growing)
• Free access to Google docs and other select Google services
• The new @mymhc.ca address can be kept indefinitely after leaving the college
• Access over the web, and through most smartphones
• A simpler, easier to remember and type, email address “username@mymhc.ca”

For example: 
Joe Canuck with student ID 30000123 would sign in like this:

User Name: Joe.Canuck (don't add @mymhc.ca in your login)

Password: For most new students, your first password will be the first three letters of your month of birth, with the first letter capitalized, followed by the four digits of your year of birth and the last three digits of your Student ID Number.

Examples:

    Joe Canuck's student ID number: 30000123
    Joe Canuck's birthday: June 1990
    Joe Canuck’s password: Jun1990123

You will be prompted to reset your password the first time you log into a computer on campus.
