Academic Upgrading

If you are looking to return to school but need to upgrade your courses before entering a program of study then College Preparation is the place for you. College Prep is a highly flexible group of courses and services designed to help adults complete high school courses and establish positive career paths.

It is very common for adults to return to school asking themselves, “What if I can’t do this?” Maybe your previous experience in school wasn’t all that positive, or it might have been several years since you last entered a classroom. After attending College Prep, however, many students find learning becomes a positive and rewarding experience.

If you’re working or have family commitments, we can develop a program that meets your schedule and needs. The College Preparation program is unique in that it offers a variety of ways to learn. For example, you can attend during the day in a regular classroom, use our Open Learning Centre, or study online. The program is flexible and adult-oriented.  

Medicine Hat College also offers a variety of support services through the Academic Resources Centre, which include peer and instructor tutoring and study skills workshops.
