Men's Basketball

The 2011/2012 men's basketball season proved to be the most successful season in 10 years. The Rattlers posted a 10 and 8 record on the year and made it to the quarter finals of the ACAC playoffs. With only three returning players, the Rattlers had a talented group of freshmen who contributed to the success of the program. The Rattlers suffered several injuries and some minor setbacks throughout the year that allowed each member of the team to step up and produce at one point or the other. The road to the playoffs included some big wins.  One win that stuck out was a long bus trip to Fort McMurray where both the men’s and women's team were stuck on the bus for 12 hours due to mechanical issues.  Despite Keyano College leading the whole game, the Rattlers posted a 31-12 fourth quarter comeback to take the win.

This Rattlers program had a “never quit” mentality which allowed us to be competitive in every game played as well as gave us the opportunity to win every game. With some impressive wins over SAIT and Red Deer, the future of the program looks bright.  Reaching the post season for the first time in 4 years has left a burning desire to get back there and be successful in the 2012/2013 campaign.
