Men's Volleyball

 This is Steven’s 1st year as head coach of the MHC Men’s Volleyball team. Previously he spent 5 seasons with the Rattlers as an assistant coach and a total of 15 years teaching, learning and coaching in preparation for what is now a dream come true for him. Born and raised in Medicine Hat, Steven enjoyed playing many sports at a high level and volleyball happened to be the one that encompassed his life. Steven has been lucky enough to have coached at every level from Jr. High to Sr. High, Club volleyball (Lethbridge Volleyball Club and Canuck Volleyball Club) to post secondary (MHC and U of C) and more recently with the Team Alberta U-16 boys.
Steven is currently finishing up his Masters in Sports Coaching through the University of Northern Colorado and has his B.FA. and B.Ed. through the University of Lethbridge.  Russell employees the Positive Coaching Alliance Philosophy and the vision for the MHC Men’s Volleyball team is:  We consistently field a competitive team that strongly believe in the family first mentality and together we strive for success both on and off the court. He has an awesome wife, Kristine and two beautiful boys, Nolan 3 and Gavin 1.
