This is a further study of the materials, concepts and techniques of three-dimensional design. Three-dimensional design principles are applied in the areas of set design, costume design and museum display. Emphasis is given to the refinement of the problem solving process and presentation techniques.

ARFA 490 Directed Study
This course allows you an opportunity to propose and develop a body of work in an area of your own choice. You are expected to have completed your basic studies of the area in question, and obtain the consent of the Program Coordinator. In order to secure that consent, you will be expected to submit a written project proposal for the semester to the Coordinator. That proposal will then form the basis of your work in this course and will ultimately lead, by the conclusion of the course, to a final work or works exhibited in a public context. In addition to the project based studio component, the course will include lecture components, seminar style discussions, written assignments and collaborative in-class projects. (Formerly ART 490)
