Environmental Reclamation Technician

Program Overview

The Environmental Reclamation Technician program is a two year diploma that provides the knowledge and skills required to reclaim and revegetate disturbed lands associated with the Oil and Gas industries in southern Alberta and Saskatchewan according to environmental and government guidelines
You will receive training in:
• Surveying and mapping
• Water and soil studies
• Botany and plant physiology
• Plant taxonomy
• Weed control
• Ecology
• Environmental Assessment & Monitoring
• Introduction to the Petroleum Industry
• Agronomy
• Environmental Law
• Reclamation technologies
• Environmental Legislation

Development of practical skills and applied training will take place during a 220 hour paid work practicum
