Medicine Hat College launches real publication

November 30, 2009

Medicine Hat College gets “real” with the launch of a new publication designed to share information with the community and contribute to the ongoing story that is MHC. With a focus on the people and stories that make the college a great place to learn, work and belong, real will strive to connect the college with the community it serves.

“The college is unique in many ways but it is our people who make the biggest difference,” says Mark Keller, director of college advancement and publisher of real. “Our goal is to highlight the ambitions and accomplishments of our people and inspire others to do the same.”

The premiere issue of real, which will be distributed starting Dec. 1, will include stories about an MHC employee’s experience going for Olympic gold, social work students gaining a global perspective while working in Africa, and one mother’s triumphant return to the classroom.

real will be produced three times annually, perhaps growing in frequency and scope in the months and years ahead. The publication will be mailed to alumni and donors, and provided free to the Medicine Hat community through the Medicine Hat News.

A PDF of the first edition has been posted online at www.mhc.ab.ca/alumni; distribution of the paper edition began today on campus, and through the Medicine Hat News this week. If you have a story idea for real, please contact Rose Paulgaard, real editor at rpaulgaard@mhc.ab.ca.
