Medicine Hat College's Therapist Assistant Program prepares paraprofessional health service personnel to work in a variety of environments under the supervision of Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, or Speech-Language Pathologists. The program is available both on-campus and through a distance education / distributed learning format. The Therapist Assistant Program has been in operation since 1994. To date, 75-90 % of graduates have been employed in the field six months after graduation. Informally and through formal surveys, employers have expressed satisfaction and excitement about graduates' knowledge, skills and attitudes.
