About MHC

Entrepreneur Development Centre

Entrepreneurship is a skills set that many Medicine Hat College students possess.  Graduates from many of our programs, including Visual Communications, Massage Therapy, Trades and more will enter the business world with the expectation that they will create their own job.  Our students success depends on access to information and mentorship to help them develop strong business fundamentals in addition to career-specific skills and knowledge.

In 2010, the RBC Foundation donated $50,000 to the Medicine Hat College Foundation to create an Entrepreneur Development Centre at Medicine Hat College.  The centre’s goal was to offer business coaching and access to resources.   The manager of the Entrepreneur Development Centre, along with a business advisory group (that consists of local business people), encourage young entrepreneurs by organizing seminars and events and working one on one in an advisory role.

MHC students quickly embraced the centre, as did the community, and in the spring of 2011 JMH & CO. came on board by donating $250,000 to support student entrepreneur scholarships as well as fund grant dollars to assist our budding entrepreneurs in starting up their businesses.  This initiative has gained a lot of exposure both on campus and in our community and we are very fortunate to be able to offer this amazing experience to MHC students.

The Entrepreneur Development Centre benefits from leadership and financial contributions.  If you have an interest in becoming involved please contact the Medicine Hat College Foundation for details about opportunities.
