Lyle Rebbeck
Woodwinds
Lyle Rebbeck has a Bachelor of Music/Music Education degree from the University of Saskatchewan, and a Master of Music degree from Northwestern University. He has studied saxophone with Fred Hemke, flute with Kathleen Rudolph, and has been resident at the Banff Centre. Lyle’s recorded music has been broadcast on CKUA Radio and the CBC National Radio network.
He is active as a performer in both classical and jazz genres, is the producer of the Medicine Hat Jazz Festival and writes a weekly jazz column for the Medicine Hat News. Lyle has been teaching woodwinds, jazz improvisation and coaching woodwind chamber ensembles at Medicine Hat College since 1985.
