Students will be exposed to the design and selection of various machine components and machine drive systems such as shafts, keys, gears, bearings, fasteners, bolted and weldedconnections. A design project is completed utilizing calculations for the selection of machine elements, sizing of components including a set of working drawings and specifications. Advanced manufacturing and emerging technologies such as 3D printing, scanning, laser cutting, CNC machining, coding, and robotics are applied.
