Starting with the alphabet, you progress to learning the basic elements and structures of the French language. Using cassette tapes, computer programs, and videos, you will comprehend, speak, read, and write French in everyday situations. Cultural aspects in various French-speaking countries are introduced. Dialogues and group discussions improve conversational skills and general fluency. NOTE: Not to be taken by students with native or near native proficiency in French, or with credit in French 30 or French 31 or their equivalents in Canada and other countries. NOTE: Students cannot receive credit for both FREN 200 andFREN 1109.
