Second World War
This course examines the Second World War from the tacticallevel to that of grand strategy starting with the 1919 Paris Peace Conference to the war’s conclusion in 1945. The course covers the origins of the war, diplomacy, the process of strategic planning, the problems of coalition warfare, national mobilization, campaign planning, and great battles on land, on the sea, and in the air. The course also explores the home front; the Holocaust; propaganda; public opinion and espionage; technological changes; and the social, political, and economic consequences of war.
Prerequisite: HIST 233 is strongly recommende
