Co-op Place, 2802 Box Springs Way NW
How long is the ceremony?
The morning ceremony will last approximately 1.5 hours and the afternoon ceremony will be approximately 2 hours. You and your guests are requested to remain in the arena for the duration of the ceremony.
When should I arrive and where do I go?
All graduates participating in the ceremony will enter Co-op Place through the Stage Door entrance at the southeast end of the arena, indicated on the map below.
Graduates are asked to be in their convocation gowns and ready to line up no later than 9:15 a.m. (2020 and 2021 graduates) and 12:30 p.m. (2022 graduates). Please leave all personal items with friends or family.
Medicine Hat College staff will be on hand to assist with your convocation gown and stole and provide you with the required material you need to cross the stage. The material will be labelled with your program and name. It is important that you keep this material with you until you cross the stage during the ceremony. Medicine Hat College staff line you up in alphabetical order (by last name) in your program. It is important that you maintain that order for the duration of the ceremony.
Gowns / PTK
How do I order my gown?
Convocation gown orders closed on May 3, 2022.
Where do I pick up my gown?
Convocation gowns will be available for pick up on June 9, 2022 from 12 p.m. - 6 p.m. and June 10, 2022 from 8 a.m. - 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. - 1 p.m. through the Stage Door entrance at the southeast end of Co-op Place. We ask that the 2020 and 2021 graduates bring their graduation caps and PTK cords (if applicable) to the ceremony.
Gowns must be returned to the bins that will be set up at Co-op Place by 5 p.m. on June 10, 2022. Should a gown fail to be returned a hold will be placed on that graduates account until the gown is returned or paid for.
What about Phi Theta Kappa cords?
PTK members will receive gold cords when they pick up their graduation gowns. We ask that the 2020 and 2021 graduates bring their PTK cords with them if they would like to wear them during the ceremony.
What should I wear?
The convocation gowns are warm, so consider the weather and wear appropriate clothing the day of your ceremony. The gowns typically reach below your knees so business dress and comfortable shoes are suggested.
Guests and parking
How many guests may students invite?
There is not a limit on the number of people you may invite. Doors will open for guests of the 2020/2021 ceremony at 9 a.m. and at 12:30 p.m. for the 2022 ceremony.
Where can my guests and I park?
Graduates will enter Co-op Place through the Stage Door entrance on the southeast side of the building, so it is recommended you park in the parking lot adjacent to those doors. Your guests will enter through the main doors on the north side of the building, so parking on the north, east, or west side of Co-op Place would be advisable.
After the ceremony
To celebrate your accomplishments, you and your guests are invited for complimentary refreshments at the Alumni Tea immediately following your ceremony. Please plan to attend and enjoy the celebration with your fellow students, instructors, and college staff.
Will there be graduation photos?
Lifetouch Photography will be at Co-op Place from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. on June 10 to take grad photos backstage. Check out their photo packages here.
Photos will be taken of the graduates after they have crossed the stage and will be available for free, thanks to TD Insurance Meloche Monnex.
I indicated that I would attend the ceremony but I am no longer able to do so. Who should I contact?
