Medicine Hat College is seeking part-time, temporary nursing instructors for our collaborative nursing degree program with the University of Calgary. These part-time positions will commence in the winter term including dates from start date in January 2024 with a proposed end date of April 2024. Applicants may also be offered additional opportunities across programs within the School of Health.
A little about the role:
These positions will provide instruction to students in:NURS 389: Long-term care setting on Tuesday or Wednesday (144 hours total)
NURS 499: Acute Care or Mental Health Setting Wednesday/Thursday alternating days and evenings (192 hours total)
Part-time faculty may, in addition to instructional hours, participate in program-specific and committee work, and other administrative duties related to their course and program.
Details:
- A Bachelor’s degree in nursing is required
- 5 years of full-time nursing practice as a Registered Nurse
- An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered
- Current or immediate eligibility for CRNA registration and be a member in good standing
- Prior teaching experience preferred with the ability to incorporate theory into practice
- Willingness to be part of a dynamic and collaborative team that focuses on student success and has a positive, appreciative and enthusiastic personality
- Strong communication skills and computer literacy

Degrees conferred outside of Canada must be accredited by the Province of Alberta, International Qualification Assessment Service, Alberta Advanced Education and Technology, in order to be valid and recognized by Medicine Hat College.
All faculty who are newly hired, or are on temporary contracts, must provide official transcripts verifying their qualifications.
