Any motor vehicle parked, operated or driven on the campus shall be solely at the risk of the owner and operator. MHC shall not be liable for any damages to any motor vehicle, operator or occupant or any other person. To limit you risk of loss, lock your vehicle at all times and don't leave valuables in your vehicle.

All lots on campus are “Open” except for the two lots designated as “Plug-in” Please see the map for details. Open permits can be purchased monthly or annually.
There are three designated plug-in areas: South lot, E lot, and some spaces in the Cultural Centre lot. These lots have electrical plug-ins. Plug-in permits are only for use in Plug-in designated lots only. MHC is committed to energy conservation; the parking lots are subject to load shedding and cycling which means power is not on all day. These permits are valid only in the designated lots.
“Pay and Display” Parking
Available to anyone driving on campus without a permit and will only allow parking in Open parking lots. These daily permits are available through the permit dispensers located on parking lots around campus. The permit dispensers accept cash only and do not dispense change. If a dispenser is malfunctioning, please contact security immediately at 529-3911. Daily permits are also for sale in the college bookstore.
Payment for residence parking permits is made at Student Services. These permits are available to students living in residence and entitle you to a reserved stall in residence parking lots only. Students wishing to park in any other lot(s) are required to purchase an appropriate permit.
Parking for People with Disabilities
MHC offers parking spaces restricted for people with physical disabilities. Your vehicle will require a valid Alberta Motor Vehicle Handicap Permit and a valid Medicine Hat College permit to park in these stalls. “Pay and Display” ticket meters nearest these stalls have barrier-free access.
Passes are available for those individuals providing services to the college at no charge or at a reduced rate (i.e. volunteers, conference speakers). Passes must be requested by the department managing the service to be provided. Passes are issued for a maximum period of 10 business days. Please contact security for questions. The 20 min drop-off zone is designed to allow users to drop items off at the college. It is strictly enforced as are the drop-off only areas near the front of the College.
Parking permits are available for purchase in the college bookstore. Please note that you no longer have to register online.
To be valid, parking permits must be located on the rear view mirror and visible from the front of the vehicle, or face up on the driver’s side of the dashboard. Pay and Display permits must be face up on the driver’s side of the dashboard, and be fully visible. Failure to display a permit will result in a parking ticket. It is your responsibility to move your permit between vehicles.
If you have forgotten your parking permit, please visit the security office immediately upon your arrival to request a free day pass and avoid getting a parking ticket. Security will require your license plate number along with a description of your vehicle to verify that you have a valid permit.
Please note, this does not apply to daily permits.
There are three options:
Permit parking regulations are in effect year round. The hours of enforcement are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday, excluding statutory holidays and days of college closure.
Parking enforcement is conducted by Campus Security and all parking enforcement issues should be referred to the security office.
