Recreation Facilities

Gym

The gymnasium -- known as the “Snake Pit” when the Rattlers compete--is equipped for basketball, volleyball, and badminton.  In its sporting role, the facility is also used for open recreation and fitness testing.

The space is also used to host events like convocation and large meetings and conventions. Students have access to the gym on a drop-in basis; just check the schedule with staff in the Weight Room.

  • Seating capacity is 1,500 (including pull out bleachers with seating for 500)

Weight Room

The weight room offers students and employees a great venue for strength and cardio training. Rattlers make use of the facility, of course, as do fitness classes. Users must show college ID, dress appropriately, and follow posted rules and instructions from staff. The Equipment Room inside the Weight Room will lend you balls, rackets, birdies and offer advice and instruction.

Weight Room Hours
Valid College ID or Activity Pass must be presented when using college fitness facilities.

Monday-Friday: 8 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Saturday-Sunday: Closed

Lockers & Towel Service
The lockers located downstairs in the G Wing are now open for weight room and recreational users. Once you have put your lock on a locker, please register the number with weight room staff in G. Towel service is also available for $10/semester or $20/year through the weight room.

Tennis Courts

Four tennis courts are available on the north side of campus. You can borrow equipment from staff in the Weight Room.


Soccer Pitch

The main MHC soccer pitch on the north side of the campus is the practice and home field for the Rattlers.


Hiking/Walking/Running

The Medicine Hat campus is right beside Kin Coulee Park offering you great access to trails and paths.
