About MHC
Bring Back the Music
Founded in 2012, Bring Back the Music pairs elementary school students to Medicine Hat College Conservatory instructors. The program has expanded to three elementary schools in our community – Elm Street School, Vincent Massey School, and Dr. Ken Sauer School and teaches children a variety of musical disciplines including violin, cello, guitar, choral, drumline, and music programming.
This program exposes children, who may not have otherwise had the opportunity, to the arts. Over 150 students are impacted by the program on an annual basis, with over 200 hours of combined musical instruction provided.
For the most promising of students, we also have been able to offer scholarships to continue their musical education at the Conservatory. We continue to look for additional supporters of the program to carry it on into the years to come. If you have an interest in becoming involved please contact the Foundation for details on opportunities.
Students in the Bring Back the Music program perform at the Rotary Music Festival.
