Kimberlee Brooks is a sport dietitian with the Alberta Sport Development Center. She is excited to be working with the team in supporting emerging athletes reach their next level of competition. She has been practicing as a registered dietitian for the past 13 years and has experience working with a variety of athletes, parents and coaches.
Kimberlee graduated from the University of Manitoba with her bachelor's degree in 2000 and completed her dietetic internship with Saskatoon District Health in 2001. She then moved to Alberta to start her career as a registered dietitian with Alberta Health Services.
Kimberlee became interested in sports nutrition in 2003 when she started training for a marathon she would be running in Amsterdam as part of Team Diabetes. Since then, Kimberlee has continued to seek out ongoing professional development in the area of sport nutrition. She completed the intensive sport nutrition course offered by Sports Dietitians Australia and Dietitians of Canada in May 2011. Kimberlee also recently completed her master of science degree in health science at the University of Lethbridge in the spring of 2012.
Outside of work, Kimberlee enjoys being active by playing volleyball and slowpitch and running with her two dogs. Kimberlee and her husband Chris stay very busy with their four boys. They can often be found cheering and supporting the boys at baseball, hockey, volleyball and basketball.
