Description

Medicine Hat College’s School of Arts, Science & Education invites applications for an Instructor in our Humanities and Social Science Department commencing Winter 2022 semester. This is a Full-time position and subject to successful completion of a two-year probationary period, the position will be a continuous appointment. 

The successful candidate will instruct courses in sociology that contribute to the Humanities and Social Sciences Diploma Program; are connected with university studies and transfer programs; function as required or elective courses for other programs at the college; and double as Mount Royal University courses for those in degree partnership programs. The successful candidate will also be an active researcher who participates in scholarly activity and contributes to the college and department communities.

Qualifications

  • Master’s or doctoral degree in Sociology required; PhD is preferred
  • Post-Secondary teaching experience is an asset
  • Research and publication history is an asset
  • Experience in on-line and face to face formats would be an asset
