"Our team engaged Wes through the College in search of team building and planning facilitating. He took that vague and seemingly impossible challenge on and ran full speed ahead with it.

The group all met offsite for a day at a beautiful facility on campus and worked together to: define the team, what success looks like, and outline commitment required from each individual to contribute to it. The instructor mixed in immediately with the team; he professionally and tactfully lead us through numerous thought provoking discussions. It was evident many light bulbs shone brighter that day. In fact, the group unanimously agreed they would like similar sessions in the very near future.

Often, concepts are lost following training sessions, but not in this case. Wes and the instructor followed up to ensure the group was able to understand and put what they learned into practice. They were just as committed to continued momentum and success, as the team!

The experience with the College was invaluable. We more than got our money worth and are already looking forward to future learning opportunities with Wes."

I was impressed from the start with Catharine’s approach and we were all very pleased to finally have someone who could listen and respond to our problems and questions. I’m very glad we decided to do this and that you were able to help! I’m sure you’ll be hearing from us again, good to know that we have someone to help us!

Just wanted to say a sincere thank you.

The Methanex IT team recently enlisted support from Medicine Hat College's Continuing Studies department to assist us in some training with the use of SQL Management Studio. We found a need for this tool to allow us to do some manual queries in our Computer Maintenance Management System that cannot be met with the normal out-of-the-box reports and routines.

Working with Nadine Lepage, corporate training officer, we were able to coordinate the instructor and the syllabus for the training course, as well as work out a very reasonable cost structure for the training course. Instructor Larry Slack was great at working with me to develop the training course content and flow over the two day course. We collaborated to develop the course and then were able to very successfully deliver it to a number of our staff members. Very well received, an easy to follow style, with many real-world examples; our staff members were very satisfied with the content.

Altogether a very pleasant experience and I would definitely check in with Continuing Studies for any further training needs.

John Gutfreund, IT supervisor, Methanex Corporation

The course was great, with everyone’s varying objectives fully met. The content was very relevant to our needs and Nancy Koenig was an excellent, patient instructor.  We were very satisfied with the course length and pace, allowing time to practice and reinforce what we had just learnt.  I would use Continuing Studies again without hesitation.

Gena Jarvis, executive assistant, Methanex Corporation

Great service from start to finish; from the corporate training officer to the instructor. Medicine Hat College customized our training program for our needs.

The corporate training our group received was tailored perfectly to our business needs. We received great feedback and ideas that we adopted into our daily operations.
Manager of technical services, Auto-Star Compusystems

Our company recently contracted MHC to give some of our supervisors and foremen training in communications and management skills.  The results were uniformly positive, and the feedback from the attendees was so positive we’ve scheduled second and third groups of employees to attend.

The course material was pertinent, and the instructors were both well informed and extremely capable of relating to our employees in a way that resonated with the issues they deal with day to day.

The net result for our company is that our entire team communicates better day to day and are able to perform their job duties at a higher level. Many thanks to the entire Medicine Hat College team, it’s been a pleasure working with you, and we look forward to working with you in the future!

I found the Business Accelerator Boot Camp of July 2018 beneficial for the pragmatic tools that are applicable on a daily basis in business. One example is the Reverse Engineering of goals. This is particularly useful because it eliminates the necessity for figuring out "how" we are going to reach the goals we set as there are many ways to achieve them. The Reverse Engineering tool puts the focus on the end result and makes it achievable without getting stuck in how.
