Learn about navigating MHC systems

MHC has developed several guides and tutorials that cover college technology, using Blackboard, and where to find information as a current student.

Students in an online course or program, and students who have been invited to an online New Student Orientation session are encouraged to review tips for online learning and how to use Blackboard Collaborate for New Student Orientation.

Your individual Blackboard courses may show up on the first day of class. Blackboard is not applicable to upgrading students.

While hardware and software requirements may vary from course to course,  it is recommended that all students have the following items available at minimum:
  • Stable Internet connection
  • Computer or laptop running Windows 10
  • Apple Mac OS 10.15 or newer for Art and Design courses
  • Webcam
  • Microphone

Please note: iPads and Chromebooks are not supported.

Additional software may be required, specific details will be shared via student email. Please be diligent in checking your Blackboard and mymhc.ca college email account for updates.

Part 2 of New Student Orientation is now Friday, January 7. Due to evolving concerns around the new COVID-19 Omicron variant, MHC has made the decision to move NSO online. Check your email for your invitation to virtual orientation sessions and other supports available on January 7.
