Medicine Hat College’s School of Health & Community Services invites applications for an Instructor in our Criminal Justice program. This is a full-time position starting July 1, 2025 and subject to successful completion of a two-year probationary period, the position will be a continuous appointment.
A little about the role:
The Criminal Justice Program is a comprehensive, two-year diploma program designed to prepare students for a wide range of careers within the criminal justice system. The curriculum encompasses key areas including criminal law, the court system, corrections, justice administration, career analysis within the criminal justice field, professional ethics, leadership, and the various challenges faced by criminal justice professionals today. The successful candidate will also be required to engage in a variety of professional responsibilities and contribute to a collaborative environment that fosters the mission of the college and the success of our students.
Details:
- A Master’s degree in a related discipline is preferred; however, a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Justice Studies, Police Sciences, Forensics, Law Enforcement, or a closely related field may be considered.
- An equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience may also be considered.
- 5 years’ experience within the legal sector, or a criminal justice career with demonstrated increasing levels of responsibility.
- Post-Secondary teaching experience and expertise in policing are considered strong assets.
- Strong communication skills and proficient computer literacy.
