Medicine Hat College invites applications for a full-time temporary Library Assistant I in our Vera Bracken Library.
A little about the role:
Reporting to the Manager, Library Services, responsibilities include delivery, set up, checking, and retrieving of equipment & software for classes, lectures, conferences, and workshops. Utilizing excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, the Library Assistant provides customer service to library users, helping them locate, use, and borrow a wide variety of library resources and services. This position also provides assistance to users on the operation of various types of equipment (multimedia-specific equipment, printers, and photocopiers), and troubleshoots problems.

• Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
• Knowledge of computer and modern technology operations required
• Demonstrated ability to work in an environment with pressing deadlines
• Interpersonal and communication skills to interact and function as a team and to provide customer service
• Physically able to do a lot of walking and some lifting of equipment
Term of Appointment: ASAP – June 1, 2026
Hours of Work: 35 hours per week
Wage Rate: $20.92 per hour (Start Rate); $23.56 per hour (Job Rate)
