A little about the role:
The Instructional Designer will take existing data analytics content and transform it into engaging, applied, and adult learner centered training for delivery online and in-person. Working collaboratively with the Extended Learning team, this role focuses on translating complex analytical concepts into clear, structured, and practical learning experiences for adult learners.
The Instructional Designer is responsible for designing course structure, learning activities, assessments, and instructional materials that support skill development in data analysis, interpretation, and visualization. Content will be aligned with adult learning principles, workplace application, and current best practices in analytics and reporting.
Details:
- A relevant undergraduate degree (e.g., education, business, data analytics, information systems, or a related field), and/or a combination of education and demonstrated instructional design experience.
- Demonstrated experience in instructional design, adult education, or training development, ideally within technical or data focused subject areas.
- The ability to structure complex information into clear, engaging, and outcome focused learning materials.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working alongside SMEs and responding to feedback.
- Strong computer literacy, with experience using instructional design tools and learning management systems (LMS) considered an asset.
- An understanding of adult learning principles - applied learning, and workplace relevant training design.
Scope of Work – Instruction Design of two distinct and related Data Analytics training courses:
- Instructional design – Data Analytics & Information Analytics (40 hours of learning content)
- Instructional design – Data Visualization & Business Reporting (40 hours of learning content)
Contract Term: Project-Based Contract (Completion Date: June 30, 2026)
Hours: 80 hours for the term
Compensation: $125 per course hour (80 course hours in total)
Work Arrangement: Hours to be scheduled in coordination with the Extended Learning team to meet project milestones and delivery timelines. All work must be completed by June 30, 2026.
