Medicine Hat College’s Student Supports department invites applications for a full-time, Career Advisor to join our team.
A little about the role:
Reporting to the Director, Student Supports, this position works with current students, future students, alumni, staff, faculty and external stakeholders to support the successful futures of Medicine Hat College students in the workforce. The Career Advisor acts as an important member of the Student Supports team in promoting career and employment services and opportunities to students. In addition to one-on-one advising and support, the Career Advisor creates programs, develops learning opportunities and grows services that support our current and future students in the workforce. Tracking regional employment trends and monitoring career opportunities, the Career Advisor focuses on marketing our graduates to external stakeholders and communicating the quality of a Medicine Hat College graduate. The position works closely with the Student Career Services Assistant on two large annual events (the Medicine Hat College Career Fair and the Medicine Hat College Job Fair) as well as on a daily basis to meet the needs of students, from the prospective to alumni stages. To be successful in this role, the Career Advisor will be passionate about unleashing the potential of every student and be a strong advocate of the College in the Medicine Hat and Brooks regions.
Details:
- An undergraduate university degree in a related field
- Up to 3 years of related work experience including employment placement, promotion, and initiation of employment/career programs
- Previous experience working in a post-secondary educational institution is an asset
- Equivalent combinations of post-secondary education and work experience will be considered
- A strong focus on student support and success
Salary Range: $62,143 - $73,384
