Medicine Hat College invites applications for a full-time sessional Food Service Worker III to work with our Food Services team.
A little about the role:
Under the direction of the Food Services Coordinator, this role supports the delivery of high-quality food and beverage services within the college environment. As a key front-line team member, the position requires strong customer service skills, clear communication, and the ability to lead by example during daily operations and events.
Primary responsibilities include hands on service, setup and teardown, and ensuring consistent service standards, allergen awareness, and adherence to AHS Food Quality and Safety practices. The role also assists in training and onboarding food service staff by providing coaching, reinforcing procedures, and helping maintain accurate service documentation and workflows.
Additional duties include supporting administrative tasks such as supply and liquor ordering, menu planning, POS maintenance, and collaborating with event planning teams to ensure smooth service delivery for meetings, conferences, and special events.
Details:
- A High School diploma
- 3 years directly related experience in a fast-paced food services environment
- Administrative computer skills – Point of Sales Systems, Scheduling, Inventory Tracking & Documentation
- Strong customer service skills
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
Term of Appointment: ASAP – December 31, 2026
March 1, 2027 – December 31, 2027
Hours: 35 hours per week
Wage Rate: $19.62 per hour (Start Rate); $21.42 per hour (Job Rate)
