Medicine Hat College is seeking dedicated, enthusiastic educational assistant for a casual position to support instruction in the Service Dog and Canine Studies program as part of the School of Business & Continuing Studies.
A little about the role:
The successful candidate will work closely with faculty, students, and canines during lab classes. This may include, but not be limited to, reviewing basic skills with handlers in a lab setting, organizing equipment prior to and during lab sessions, demonstrating canine handling techniques, and assisting faculty with practical lab assessments.
This position will begin October 20, 2025.

Details:
- Specialized training such as certified Professional Dog Trainer or other dog training certification - required
- Level 2 Certified Services Dog Trainer - preferred
- OR Two-year diploma in a related field such as Service Dog or Certified Vet Technician
- Combination of education and experience may be considered
- 3 years of related experience in dog training and handling using R+ techniques.
- Experience coaching groups in an educational setting is an asset
Term of Appointment: October 20, 2025 - April 14, 2025
Hours: Casual up to 45 hours total, as needed and as scheduled by supervisor. Evening and weekend work may be required
Wage Rate: $26.16 per hour (Start Rate); $29.35 per hour (Job Rate)
