The School of Business and Continuing Studies at Medicine Hat College invites applications for part-time, contract instructor positions for the 2025–2026 academic year. Continuing Studies is pleased to offer Medical Terminology and is currently seeking a contract instructor to deliver this course in person.
A little about the role:
As an instructor you will be responsible for delivering engaging and informative sessions to students. Students learn essential terms related to body systems, conditions, and procedures, with a strong emphasis on anatomy, physiology, and pathology. This course supports learners in our Unit Clerk and Medical Office Assistant programs. You’ll be working with the Extended Learning team to create flexible, impactful learning opportunities that empower individuals, support community growth, and connect learners to a wide range of career and educational pathways.
Details:
- Post-secondary credentials in a healthcare-related field (preferred), with a strong understanding of medical terminology
- Teaching experience (asset)
- The ability to explain complex concepts related to body systems in a clear, straightforward manner, focusing on practical applications for Medical Office Assistants and Unit Clerks
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently, troubleshoot challenges, and build positive, respectful relationships with students
- Excellent presentation, communication, organizational, and time management skills
- Familiarity with learning platforms such as Blackboard (or a willingness to learn)
- A student-focused mindset and a commitment to fostering an engaging, supportive learning environment
- Format: In-person, Medicine Hat Campus
- Schedule: Fall 2025 term; evenings (September–December)
- Total Instructional Hours: 42 hours
- Compensation: $45.00 per hr.
