Medicine Hat College’s Yuill School of Health and Community Services invites applications for a full-time, term certain Instructor in our Addictions Counselling program. This is a one-year, full-time, term-certain appointment commencing July 1, 2026, with a potential for renewal.
A little about the role:
In 2025, Medicine Hat College launched an Addictions Counselling program as part of the Mental Health Professions Enrolment Expansion. This university transfer/diploma completion program is a rigorous and unique program that prepares students with knowledge in a range of dependencies—including substance use, gambling, and compulsive behaviors—and with multilevel intervention skills. Teaching responsibilities will include a variety of courses within the Addiction Counselling program and courses within Interdisciplinary Studies.
Details:
- Experience in the Addictions Counselling field.
- Addictions Counselling diploma, Bachelor’s of Counselling, Bachelor’s of Health Sciences, or a degree in a relevant field required, with a Master’s degree in a relevant field preferred.
- Teaching experience in a post-secondary environment.
- Equivalent combinations of post-secondary education and relevant work experience may be considered.
Term of Appointment: Contract July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027
