Medicine Hat College is seeking part-time, sessional nursing instructors in our Practical Nursing Program. These part-time, sessional positions include opportunities in our upcoming academic year.
A little about the role:
This position will provide instruction to students in clinical or on campus lab settings. Faculty will also engage in all aspects of student and program success, including but not limited to, participating in program and college meetings.
Lab Coach: Brooks Campus
Fall: 36 hours
Wednesdays 1630-1930: Sept 17-Dec 10 excluding November break
Winter: 36 hours
Wednesdays Jan 14- April 6, and April 16; 1630-1930, excluding February break
Spring: 18 hours
Wednesdays May 13-June 17; 1630-1930
Clinical Instructor: PRNU 168: Clinical Experience II: Continuing and Acute Care
Location: Various Continuing Care, Medicine Hat
Term: May 4-June 22 or May 18-June 30
Shifts: At the discretion of the clinical instructor
Hours: 78 hours x 2 instructors, or 156 hours x 1
Clinical Instructor: PRNU 204: Clinical Experience III: Acute Care
Location: Medicine Hat Regional Hospital, Various medical units.
Term: Dec 1-Jan 23 (excluding Dec 22- Jan 1, Christmas Break)
Shifts: At the discretion of the clinical instructor
Hours: 230 x 1 instructor, or 115 x 2 instructors
Clinical Instructor: PRNU 158: Clinical Experience I: Continuing Care
Location: Various Continuing Care Units, Brooks
Term: Jan 5-17, 2026
Shifts: At the discretion of the clinical instructor
Hours: 78
Details:
- A diploma or degree in nursing is required
- 5 years of full-time nursing practice as a Registered or Licensed Practical Nurse
- An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered
- Current or immediate eligibility for CLPNA/CRNA registration and a member in good standing
- Prior teaching experience preferred with the ability to incorporate theory into practice
- Willingness to be part of a dynamic and collaborative team that focuses on student success and has a positive, appreciative and enthusiastic personality
- Strong communication skills and computer literacy
