Medicine Hat College’s Center for Innovation invites applications for a full time, regular Research Coordinator.
A little about the role:
Reporting to the Manager, Centre for Innovation, the primary area of responsibility for this position is the coordination and administration of all grant-related research funding at Medicine Hat College. This includes ensuring grant funds are spent in accordance with research and grant agreements, research projects align with their pre-established scope of work, and all outcomes are reported on. Collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders will be required to see grant and research agreements through their life cycle.
In addition, this position will be responsible for developing and executing applied research processes for the Centre for Innovation, such as client intake forms, research agreement templates, grant application guidelines, project design templates, and knowledge mobilization requirements. This position will be responsible for assisting and instructing faculty and research staff on applied research policies and processes as they are developed. Finally, this position will be responsible to liaise, collaborate and report to all government funding agencies (i.e. Tri-council funding, Prairies Can, National Research Council’s Industrial Research Assistance Program).
Details:
- Master’s degree, Doctoral degree preferred, in a related field.
- 2 years related experience conducting research or in a research administration position.
- Project management and data analysis
- Research design and methodology
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and ethical considerations (e.g. Tri-council policy statement).
- Understanding of research in an academic environment and/ or experience conducting research in an academic environment
- Budget and grant management Advanced academic writing skills and/or experience writing research grants or proposals
- Basic knowledge of intellectual property law and contract law
- Knowledge of relevant software and tools (e.g. statistical analysis software, project management tools).
Salary Range: $73,466 - $85,936 Per annum
