One on One Gallery
The One on One Gallery is an integral part of the Art & Design program at Medicine Hat College. This space is used as a teaching tool to enhance our students education by inviting professional artists and designers to showcase their work and bring contemporary and exciting ideas to our community.
The One on One Gallery is located in the Cultural Centre, just south of the Medicine Hat campus (399 College Ave SE).

Dear Friends of the One on One Gallery,
I hope the summer was kind to you all! Summer tends to be pretty quiet around here, but soon our building will be buzzing with activity in the hallways and studios, as classes begin for the 2025/26 academic year. With 24/7 safe access to the studios, students can work late into the night with paint, charcoal, clay, and all sorts of digital tools that they might not have access to at home. Whenever I stop by campus late at night — to set up a still-life for the next morning’s drawing class or to finish up some marking in my office — I love the underground vibe of creativity that thrives after hours.
The One on One Gallery is currently being installed with “Best of Last,” highlighting great student work from the previous academic year. This first show of the year hopes to inspire new incoming students and give them an overview of the studio courses they are about to dive into. It’s also a great way to celebrate the hard work of last year’s students, and encourage them to keep working hard this year! The exhibition will run September 2 - October 2, 2025 with a reception on Thursday, September 18 at 7 PM. I hope you can stop by to see examples of drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, design, art historical recreations, and more.
