Teaching that Sticks! Active Learning Powered by Genially

Session Description

CITE Teaching Series provides meaningful insights on popular educational practices and supports teaching excellence at Medicine Hat College. In this session, learn how active learning transforms students from passive listeners into engaged participants who think, discuss, practice and apply ideas. We’ll explore what active learning is, why it matters, and how it improves student understanding and retention. We’ll then move from concepts to practice with an interactive example using Blackboard Ultra built in Genially, giving you a taste of a hands-on experience.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
• Describe what active learning is and why it supports students.
• Give examples of active learning strategies.
• Participate in an active learning activity to experience the approach firsthand.
• Learn about Blackboard Ultra.
