Faculty Profile Submission Form

Faculty profiles on program and School pages help showcase the people behind the learning experience. They are designed to connect students with their instructors, support a sense of community at Medicine Hat College, and highlight relevant faculty research and scholarly activity.

All full-time faculty are encouraged to create a profile by completing the form below and attending a scheduled photo session. Photo sessions are offered twice a year, once in the Fall semester and once in the Winter semester. School Administrative Assistants share photo session dates and booking information with faculty via email.

BIOGRAPHY

This is an opportunity to share your experience and teaching style with future and current students. Some possible topics to cover include:
- What makes your teaching practice unique?
- What lecture topic or activity do you love teaching?
- What do you like most about teaching at MHC?
- What can students expect from you in the classroom?
- Relevant research and achievements
- Fun fact about yourself or something you love to do when you aren’t teaching

Tips:
- Write in third person
- Avoid language that dates content (ex. instead of saying “Joe Smith started teaching at MHC two years ago” use year instead “Joe Smith started teaching at MHC in 2024.”)

RESEARCH & SCHOLARLY ACTIVITY

This section highlights your research interests, professional expertise, scholarly activity, etc. Information shared here helps showcase the depth of knowledge and industry experience of faculty at Medicine Hat College.

Tips:
- Use plain language whenever possible.
- Include only information you are comfortable sharing publicly.
- Focus on information that reflects your expertise, professional practice or contributions to your field.

If you are not actively involved in research or scholarly activity, you may leave these sections blank.

Areas of Expertise & Interest:
Share topics, trends, issues, or subject areas you are passionate about, study, teach or have professional expertise in.
