Miranda is an instructor and the coordinator for the School of Business. Miranda is passionate about student success and creating an environment of inquiry. She hopes that at the end of a course with her, students will enjoy learning and want to delve deeper into the topics covered. Her students will understand how to use the business concepts in their workplace environment.
Her background is in hotel management, her last position being at the Fairmont Banff Springs where she was the Director of Rooms. Along with her teaching, Miranda has published research on how high-intensity experiential activities affect student learning. Miranda is a co-faculty lead with the School of Business Case Club and enjoys taking students to case competitions. Miranda has worked with several summer students developing marketing strategies for small towns in southern Alberta, as well as completed a research project with the Alberta Rural Development Network.
Miranda believes that working as a team, communicating effectively, and being passionate about what we do is the key to success. In 2023, Miranda was nominated for the Women In Business Inspire Award as well as nominated for the ACIFA Distinguished Instructor Award. In 2016, Miranda was awarded Instructor of the Year. When Miranda is not working, she is travelling around the world with her family.
