She is dedicated to advancing education in canine learning and behavior, animal health and wellness, and animal-assisted interventions. Marissa strongly believes in equipping students with the skills to work in this growing and specialized field.
Marissa’s passion for dogs is supported by her Dogma Dog Trainer Certification and years of experience living and working with animals. Since joining Medicine Hat College in 2016, she has played a key role in shaping curriculum and delivering instruction that blends theory with hands-on experience.
Before transitioning to academia, Marissa worked for over a decade as an Occupational Therapist Assistant in diverse healthcare settings, including acute care, rehabilitation, outpatient clinics, and community programs.
