BIOGRAPHY
I am a passionate educator with several years of secondary classroom experience and a decade as an instructional coach working alongside K–12 teachers and students. As a lifelong learner, I enjoy exploring new research, reading, and podcasts that keep me curious and responsive to the ever-changing world our young people navigate. I believe deeply in quality literacy instruction for all and in the power of concept-based teaching, where big ideas can be explored meaningfully and applied to real-world challenges, transferring knowledge and skills beyond the classroom.
In my classroom, students can expect an organized, structured environment grounded in open conversation, collaboration, and shared thinking. I hold high expectations because I know students are capable of remarkable growth, and I aim to push their thinking while supporting them every step of the way. My goal is always to help learners build confidence, transfer knowledge, and see themselves as capable problem-solvers.
Beyond teaching, I am a mom of three active kids and spend much of my time outdoors. Whether hiking, paddleboarding, camping, gardening, or walking, connecting with nature is my favourite way to recharge. Health and wellness are central to my life, and I hope I bring that same sense of balance and purpose to my teaching.
