Advanced Financial Accounting
This is an advanced course in financial accounting that covers the following areas: intercompany investments, business combinations and related issues, joint ventures, foreign currency transactions, and financial reporting. ACCT 431 builds on concepts learned in introductory and intermediate accounting courses. Students can expect to develop an understanding of the concepts underlying these topics and to demonstrate an ability to complete numerical problems. Students should also be able to evaluate alternative accounting treatments and use judgement in analyzing.
