Civil Design I - Civil Design Fundamentals
This course introduces students to fundamental theories of civil design technology for creating a variety of maps and drawings using AutoCAD MAP. Vertical and horizontal measurement of distances and angles; open and closed traverse layouts, levelling circuits, profiles, cross sections and horizontal curves are covered. Topics include the land survey system of western Canada, topographical nomenclature, contour maps, interpretation of survey data, aerial photo interpretation, map references, mapping coordinates, and interpretation of topographical features.
