The Bookkeeping Certificate program consists of 7 individual courses, offered in-person at Medicine Hat Campus.

You have the option to take the full certificate or take individual courses to build the skills you need most. 

Courses include:

  • Introduction to Bookkeeping
  • Microsoft Excel Level 1: Skills for Data Management
  • Sage 50 Level 1: Navigating, Entering, and Managing Financial Data
  • Sage 50 Level 2: Financial Management and Payroll Processing
  • Microsoft Excel: Formulas & Functions
  • QuickBooks Online Level 1: Navigating, Entering, and Managing Financial Data
  • QuickBooks Online Level 2: Financial Management

Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:

  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and financial records for a business
  • Record and track income, expenses, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
  • Prepare financial statements and year-end bookkeeping records
  • Process payroll, employee deductions, and government remittances
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit card transactions, and other financial records
  • Generate financial reports to support business decisions
  • Set up and maintain company records using Sage 50 and QuickBooks
  • Track inventory and job costs within accounting software
  • Use Microsoft Excel to organize, analyze, and report financial information
  • Apply bookkeeping best practices to support efficient business operations

  • $4325 + GST

Required materials:

To earn a Bookkeeping Certificate of Proficiency, students must complete required courses with a minimum mark of 'B'. 

Students must apply for the certificate upon successful completion of all required courses.
