Resilience Coach
This program equips participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to support others in their recovery journey, focusing on brain development, resilience, and practical coaching techniques. Building on the Brain Story Certification from the Alberta Family Wellness Initiative, the Resilience Coach micro-credential incorporates in-person, hands-on instruction to deepen understanding and enhance coaching abilities.

Program Structure:
Brain Story Certification (Independent Study)
- A 20-hour free online course developed by the Alberta Family Wellness Initiative.
- Explores foundational concepts in brain development, resilience, and the impact of early life experiences.
Part 1: Brain Story Certification – Theory and Interactive Learning
- A 33 hour in-person course designed to make the Brain Story content more relatable through interactive discussions and activities.
- Provides opportunities for participants to explore theoretical concepts in practical, real-world contexts.
Part 2: Skills-Focus
- A 27-hour in-person course emphasizing practical coaching techniques and communication skills.
- Includes hands-on practice with strategies to foster resilience and support positive change in others.
There are no prerequisites.

Tuition: $1,300
To earn the Resilience Coach Micro-credential, students must complete required courses with an average of at least 50% in this course.
Upon successful completion of the course participants will receive a personalized digital badge for the Micro-Credential from Medicine Hat College.
