Medicine Hat College invites applications for four Residence Assistant (RA) positions in Student Residence for the Fall 2026 semester, with appointments beginning on August 19, 2026. Applicants must have applied for and been accepted into Medicine Hat College Student Residence for Fall 2026 and must be enrolled as a full-time student at Medicine Hat College, maintaining a minimum GPA of 2.7.
A little about the role:
Reporting to the Student Residence Coordinator, Residence Assistants play a key role in creating a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive living environment. Responsibilities include organizing activities, modeling positive behavior, and providing support to residents navigating personal, social, and academic challenges. Residence Assistants also support resident safety and enforce residence policies during assigned shifts by conducting rounds and responding to emergencies. Clear record-keeping, effective communication with residents and staff, and teamwork within the RA team are essential components of the role.

Hours of Work: As scheduled (includes evening and weekend shifts)
Compensation:
Resident Assistants are compensated with a rent waiver for a standard room and coverage of internet fees. In addition, they benefit from professional development courses and valuable leadership opportunities.
