Medicine Hat College is seeking part-time temporary nursing instructors in our collaborative nursing degree program with the University of Calgary. This part-time position includes opportunities in both the Fall 2026 and Winter 2027 semesters. In-Person at our Brooks Campus.
A little about the role:
This position will provide instruction to students in the clinical setting and engage in all aspects of student and program success, including, but not limited to, program orientation and participation in meetings.
Fall 2026 semester:
Clinical Instructor: NURS 589
Location: Brooks Health Center
Term: September 23, 2026– December 6, 2026
Schedule: TBD
Hours: 192 (12 weeks) or 96 (6 weeks, shared between two instructors)
Clinical Instructor: NRSG 450: Consolidated Practicum
Location: Brooks Health Center
Term: September 23, 2026– December 6, 2026
Schedule: Wednesdays and Thursdays, alternating days/evenings
Hours: 120 (9 weeks)
Winter 2027 semester:
Clinical Instructor: NRSG 550: Acute Care Nursing Practicum
Location: Brooks Health Center
Term: CLMA: Jan 13, 2027- February 25, 2027
CLMB: March 2, 2027 – April 8, 2027
Shifts: Wednesdays and Thursdays, alternating days/evenings
Hours: 88 hours per section
Details:
- A bachelor’s degree in nursing is required
- 5 years of full-time nursing practice as a Registered Nurse
- An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered
- Current or immediate eligibility for CRNA registration as be a member in good standing
- Prior teaching experience preferred, with the ability to incorporate theory into practice
- Willingness to be part of a dynamic and collaborative team that focuses on student success and has a positive, appreciative and enthusiastic personality
- Strong communication skills and computer literacy
