Medicine Hat College invites applications for a full-time regular facility maintenance generalist at our Brooks campus.
A little about the role:
Reporting to the Manager, Facility Services in the facilities department. As a Maintenance Generalist, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for students, employees, and visitors. This hands-on role supports the day-to-day operation of campus facilities through a combination of maintenance, repair, custodial, groundskeeping, and operational services. You will respond to service requests, troubleshoot and complete a variety of building and equipment repairs, support preventative maintenance activities, and help maintain campus grounds and common spaces. The role also includes assisting with shipping and receiving, furniture and equipment moves, inventory tracking, and fleet support. Working both independently and as part of a collaborative team, you will identify and resolve issues, provide excellent customer service, and contribute to the overall appearance, functionality, and safety of the College's facilities.
Details:
• High School Grade 12.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Minimum 3 years of building and grounds maintenance and safe use of tools and equipment with 1 year related custodial/event set up support
• Knowledge of applicable code/legislation/regulations/policies/procedures and ability to apply legislation/regulations/policies/procedures.
• Knowledge and skill of machinery, equipment, and tools necessary for the performance of job duties, occupational hazards and safety precautions.
• Knowledge of residential appliances and HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural systems.
Wage Rate: Under Review $27.16 per hour (Start Rate); $30.70 per hour (Job Rate)
