Medicine Hat College’s Yuill School of Health and Community Services invites applications for a part-time, temporary instructor in Addictions Counselling.
A little about the role:
In 2025, Medicine Hat College launched an Addictions Counselling program as part of the Mental Health Professions Enrolment Expansion. This university transfer/diploma completion program is a rigorous and unique program that prepares students with knowledge in a range of dependencies—including substance use, gambling, and compulsive behaviors—and with multilevel intervention skills. Teaching responsibilities will include a variety of courses within the Addiction Counselling program.

Details:
- Experience in the Addictions Counselling field.
- Addictions Counselling diploma, Bachelor of Counselling, or a degree in a relevant field required, with a Master’s degree in a relevant field preferred.
- Teaching experience in a post-secondary environment is preferred.
- Equivalent combinations of post-secondary education and relevant work experience may be considered.
- Willingness to be part of a dynamic and collaborative team that focuses on student success and has a positive, appreciative, and enthusiastic personality.
- Strong communication skills and computer literacy.
