Medicine Hat College welcomes student applications for Campus Peer Support Workers. There are two contract positions available for Medicine Hat campus and one contract position for Brooks Campus for the 2026-2027 academic year.
A little about the role:
Do you have an interest in the mental health field? Do you want to help fellow peers? Reporting to the Manager, Mental Health Services the Campus Peer Support Worker role involves providing non-clinical mental health and recovery support to MHC students. This is a paid position and training is provided. Ongoing supervision is provided.
Details:
- Have a lived experience of mental health and/or addictions.
- Be currently enrolled at or accepted to attend Medicine Hat College.
- Be able to build relationships quickly and connect with peers.
- Have excellent interpersonal communication and critical thinking skills.
- Work independently under the direction of the Manager
- Support students with diverse backgrounds using culturally sensitive and trauma informed practices.
Terms of Employment: August 28, 2026, to April 30, 2027
(with the possibility of renewal)
Hours of Work: Up to 5 hours per week – some flexibility of hours may be required.
Wage Rate: $17.00 per hour
