Medicine Hat College is seeking a collaborative and people‑centered leader to serve as Director, Community Engagement in our Advancement Department. This role is well‑suited to someone who values strong relationships, thoughtful and creative problem‑solving, and shared accountability for institutional success.
A little about the role:
Reporting to the Executive Director, Advancement & Community Relations, the Director, Community Engagement provides strategic leadership for community relations, fund development, stakeholder engagement, and athletics. As a senior ambassador for Medicine Hat College, this role develops and strengthens relationships to advance institutional priorities, the College's reputation, and support long-term sustainability. Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, the Director leads fundraising and engagement initiatives, secures support through donations, grants, and sponsorships, and provides guidance to senior leadership on community and government relations. The role is responsible for fostering meaningful partnerships, expanding the College's regional presence, and seeking opportunities that strengthen connections between the College and the communities it serves. The Athletics department reports directly to the Director, Community Engagement, who provides leadership and oversight to support the success and community impact of the program. Through effective leadership, relationship-building, and strategic advocacy, the Director contributes to the continued growth, visibility, and success of Medicine Hat College. Details:
- Bachelor’s degree in leadership, Communications, Public Relations or related majors. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a related field including management and leadership responsibilities
- Exceptional Knowledge of principles, practices, methods and techniques of fund development
- Ability to exercise discretion, integrity, act and communicate in a professional and proactive manner appropriate to the situation.
- Assesses industry trends and calculates and responds to the implications these have on the organization’s future direction.
Salary: $114,082 gross annually
